December Flavors Capture the Season for Holiday Entertaining and Gift Giving
Salt & Straw’s holiday-inspired December flavors offer good cheer for whatever the weather may bring. The seasonal menu features five varieties that can be enjoyed by the scoop, pint or flight and are available at the Seattle scoop shops beginning Friday, November 23. Salt & Straw shops are located on Capitol Hill at 714 E. Pike Street and in Ballard at 5420 Ballard Avenue.

Holiday on Ice Cream Series:
Peppermint Bark Cocoa
This flavor is a collaboration with Williams-Sonoma in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their signature holiday Peppermint Bark. A tribute to the classic sweet starts with a rich cocoa ice cream cooled with a dash of peppermint oil, to which handfuls of bark made with minty dark chocolate, creamy white chocolate, and crisp, handmade peppermint candy bits are added.
Apple Brandy & Pecan Pie
Vanilla custard ice cream is spiked with lots of Clear Creek apple brandy and elevated with homemade pecan pie filling, rich with nutty, toffee stickiness.
Gingerbread Cookie Dough
Molasses cookies are used to make a cookie butter, which are swirled into rum royal icing ice cream. Then more cookies are chopped and folded into the mix to make sure there are bits and pieces of gingerbread in every bite.
Cinnamon Coconut Eggnog (v)
This dairy-free, egg-free nog is laced with plenty of cinnamon and two kinds of nutmeg: dried and freshly grated. Those spices plus extra creamy, rum-infused almond milk get churned up with coconut cream and sugar.
Sugar Plum Fairy
Sweet plum jam and marzipan are swirled into ice cream infused with Assam tea from Portland’s Smith Teamaker as a nod to Old World winter confections and the Russian origins of Tchaikovsky’s holiday ballet.
