The nation’s largest, single-region wine and food festival, Taste Washington, returns March 28-31, 2019
Washington State Wine Month may have ended, but don’t put those wine glasses away before toasting to your ultimate spring plan – Taste Washington. The nation’s largest, single-region wine and food festival and a winner of USA Today’s 10-Best Wine Festivals returns March 28-31, 2019.
Entering its 22nd year, Taste Washington has everything you need to shake off any winter doldrums – fantastic food created by the nation’s hottest chefs, highly acclaimed Washington wines, and top-notch winemakers. Other highly curated sensory events include the Sunday Brunch, Taste Washington on the Farm, and The New Vintage.
“Taste Washington represents the best of what makes this region so unique – a creative culture that celebrates the amazing wine, food and music,” Senior Vice President & CMO of Visit Seattle Ali Daniels said. “It’s the perfect time to visit Seattle and taste what makes Washington so delicious.”

Last year’s celebration drew a record-breaking 8,000 attendees over the four-day festival and many of the events sold out early.
Always pushing the envelope, last year’s events included a star-studded lineup of world-renowned chefs including Diego Galicia and Rico Torres of Mixtli, Gregory Gourdet of Departure Restaurant + Lounge, Sheldon Simeon of Tin Roof, Brooke Williamson of Hudson House, Thomas Griese of RN74, Tsuyoshi Kobayashi of Shiro’s Sushi, Stuart Lane of Spinasse and Artusi, Melissa Miranda of Musang, Shota Nakajima of Adana, Jeffrey Vance of No Anchor, Aaron Willis of Ciudad and Kevin Yuan of Baron’s Xi’an Kitchen & Bar. Chef Eduardo Jordan – the two-time 2018 James Beard Award winner for best new restaurant JuneBaby and best northwest chef – capped off the festivities with demonstrations at the Alaska Mileage Plan Chef’s Stage and in the Lexus Experience.
Highlights in 2018 also included The New Vintage and Sunday Brunch. At The New Vintage celebrity chefs offered bites alongside newly released Washington rosés and a first-ever live musical performance at the event by synth-pop duo Man Made Time from Los Angeles. The new Sunday Brunch featured both Executive Chef and Founder Josh Henderson and Chef Daniel Cox of Quality Athletics serving up pairings alongside a live performance by Seattle-based singer/songwriter Kris Orlowski.
The always popular Red & White Party hosted at AQUA by El Gaucho featured 30 wineries pouring highly awarded and exclusive wine club wines. Taste Washington on the Farm allowed attendees to explore beyond downtown to experience the people – and places – that make up the fabric of Seattle’s food culture.
As in years past, the weekend culminated in the two-day Grand Tasting. In 2018, guests enjoyed samples of more than 700 wines, bites from 65 national and regional celebrity chefs and more than 10,000 hand-shucked oysters.
